Thousand Oaks California.
August 7th, 2010.
It is hard to believe that two years have already passed since the last election for Thousand Oaks City Council.
So far, it looks like the three incumbents along with about seven challenges have filed the necessary paper work. I would like to say good luck to each and everyone of them.
Running for an elected office is not an easy thing to do. Well, not if you want to take it seriously. I have been asked several times over already, " Why in the world would you want to do run for City Counsel? "
For me the answer is simple and honest. I have to. I can't sit by and watch as our city is slowly ground into financial ruin. I can't stand by and listen to the same old tired statements about protecting open spaces while the City Counsel spends money on ridiculous programs, surveys and consultant firms. We do not have the income revenue to support such wasteful decisions.
When I say I am a fiscal conservative, I mean it. That means I don't waste money ever! Not yours and not mine. And I certainly don't plan on wasting the tax payers' money.
I look forward to speaking with as many of you as are interested about the real issues facing Thousand Oaks, some real answers to solving the many problems the city faces and about real campaign reform.
My best to all,
Sincerely,
Ernest J. LeGault
